History tells us that Atari’s ‘Pong’, released in 1972, was the second commercial video game, with credit going to Nolan Bushnell (founder of Atari). Computer Space was actually the first (Atari).  ‘Pong’ rapidly gained incredible popularity and became the first commercially successful arcade game, which strongly influenced the early video game industry.

Now the iconic Atari video game is receiving a rebirth from UNIS Technology, with two versions: Atari Pong Cocktail Table, which is ideal for bars and restaurants; and an arcade table for the family entertainment center, cineplex, bowling, and LBE markets. Both models are designed in retro style with adjustable height capabilities, USB charging ports, and numerous speed levels.

“What’s exciting,” says Steven Tan, UNIS’s General Manager, “is that despite the great interest in the Atari Pong table, we haven’t really been able to sell it properly [initially] to the FEC/LBE market because it wasn’t coin-operated, it was free play. However, our license covers coin-operated games too, so we’re excited to be launching it in two fully-coin-op versions.”
