Emily Dunn (Tom’s Amusement Co. Marietta GA) with Immediate Past President Jim Marsh (Hart Novelty Bellingham WA)
Emily Dunn officially became the 2019-2020 President of AMOA at the close of the Amusement Expo International Las Vegas on March 28, 2019. Jim Marsh passed the torch at the AMOA Breakfast Annual Meeting earlier that morning. Emily is the 4th woman to hold the top position (Leoma Ballard, Tammy Norberg Paulsen, & Marion Paul were previous AMOA Presidents).
Emily has been involved in every aspect of AMOA during her tenue on the AMOA Board of Directors as she ‘moved up the Chairs’. In her acceptance speech, Emily pledged to lead AMOA forward and carry on the work that the AMOA Officer Team is working on to move the AMOA forward during its upcoming 71st year.
What this could mean? In today’s fast-changing world, be assured that Emily [I call her the ‘Energizer’] will be multi-tasking and keeping each of the AMOA Committees moving to accomplish many new and exciting goals that will help not only all AMOA members but the entire industry as well. As I walked back and forth on the Amusement Expo Trade Show Floor, visiting Exhibitor Booths, I ran into Emily 51 times and Jim only 49 times. They seemed to be everywhere! Note that Emily has spent the last few years lobbying for the industry in Washington D.C. and has been extremely effective. As AMOA President, she will continue to visit DC and also work very closely with AAMA’s President Holly Hampton. Congratulations to Emily!!!!
