TouchTunes CEO Ross Honey shows off his company’s Fusion Music System, which received one of two Innovator Awards this year from AMOA.

As reported by RePlay, “The growth of Amusement Expo International, which concluded its 2019 go-round March 28, was a surprise to no one who walked the trade show floor. Event organizers have the numbers to confirm it, too. The Amusement Expo’s report (by Brian Glasgow, WT Glasgow) to the [AMOA & AAMA] board of directors showed 179 exhibitors compared to 169 last year, 488 booths sold compared to 430 in 2018 and 50 new exhibitors compared to 42. There were around 2,000 attendees, [with more than 500 attending] the Tuesday, March 26 Education Day’s 32 Seminars.”

According to AMOA President Jim Marsh, “The Show was completely sold out. This was the first time in 10 years.” It was noted that there were 10 Virtual Realty companies exhibiting. 600+ attended the GALA as compared to 450 in 2018.

AMOA Innovator Awards Marks its 20th Anniversary

Of the 30 entries, there were two winners this year for the AMOA’s Innovator Awards – TouchTunes’ Fusion Music System and Bay Tek Games for Connect 4 Hoops.

2020 Amusement Expo is in New Orleans March 9-11

New Orleans Hilton & Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

“The site of the 2020 Amusement Expo has been chosen and this year’s Vegas show attendees certainly sounded excited for the change of pace and place – heading down to the Big Easy next March. After those record numbers from this year’s event, organizers expect another great turnout next year. In fact, Brian Glasgow of the W.T. Glasgow management team said five companies have already signed up, including a big-name distributor that plans on increasing booth size.” – RePlay

What this could mean? Best Amusement Expo in a Decade pretty much says it all. The entire week was a marathon starting with the best attended Foundations University program in 17 years, followed by 32 Amusement Expo seminars plus 12 Laser Tag Convention seminars on Tuesday, then a well-attended Gala, and then 2 full days of the trade show that was busy from start to finish! Everyone was enthusiastic about our industry’s outlook for 2019-20. There were great new products for both the FEC and Street sectors. Yes, Amusement Expo is one of the Top 4 Shows in the US. Great job AMOA/AAMA/WT Glasgow!!!!!
